What's On
Explore the past, present and future
With exhibitions, interactive displays and special events highlighting issues that matter in Wales, there's always something to inform, involve and inspire at the Pierhead.
From super cheques to Senedd decision making
Built in 1897, this Grade One listed building was originally the headquarters of the Cardiff Railway. The Pierhead is even rumoured to be the place where the first million pound cheque was kept after being signed in the nearby Coal Exchange.
As the biggest space in the building, the Main Hall is designed to accommodate varied activities and events. A multi-screen projected film exhibition details life over the past 113 years, through the eyes of the Pierhead. State-of-the-art polling stations ask visitors questions on topical issues that affect the future of Wales and its communities. The results from these polls are passed directly to the Senedd, helping to influence opinion and shape decision making
